Marilyn Monroe Sculpture in Chicago

An eight metre (26 foot) tall statue of Marilyn Monroe recreating her famous pose from 1955 film 'The Seven Year Itch' has been unveiled in Chicago.

Seward Johnson's Forever Marilyn, depicting the moment when a draft catches Monroe's dress as she stands over a subway grate, was built in New Jersey before being shipped to Chicago's Michigan Avenue.

The original film left a little more to the imagination, so the work has raised some eyebrows in the city.

The stainless steel and aluminum sculpture will be on display in Pioneer Court - known for its unusual public art displays - until spring 2012.
