World's Slimmest Smartphone - Motorola Droid Razr

The Razr is back - Motorola Mobility, in collaboration with Verizon Wireless, has come up with a new smartphone 'Droid Razr' that the company claims is the world's slimmest smartphone. The 7.1 mm thin phone has a Gorilla glass screen for scratch resistance. It is powered by a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor.


The Droid Razr has a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display and is said to be the first smartphone capable of streaming movies and TV shows in HD through Netflix.


The phone is powered by Android 2.3.5 (Gingerbread) operating system. It features 1GB RAM for a fast user interface and multi-tasking.


The smartphone sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with 1080p HD video capture and image stabilisation technology for better video quality.


It also has a front-facing HD camera for video chat over 4G LTE, 3G or Wi-Fi. The phone is 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot capable so that users can share 4G LTE speed with up to eight Wi-Fi enabled devices.


The smartphone offers 32 GB memory - 16 GB on board and 16 GB microSD card pre-installed and comes with a 1780 mAh battery.


The device is said to have a more powerful chip than the iPhone 4S, is priced at $299 compared with the $199 price tag for the latest iPhone.


The company plans to kick off Droid Razr pre-orders for Verizon Wireless on October 27. The phone will hit the store shelves in November.
